The fiftieth anniversary of Haugen’s pioneering publication on the ecology language provides an ideal opportunity to reflect some promising new trends within recent research multilingual education that centers linguistic ecology. explored in this article takes up as a primary lens understand range phenomena, particularly contexts dynamic change focus community. This highlights three developments over last fifteen years continuing relevance and contributions framework for education: (1) higher education, (2) translanguaging, (3) rights sustainability. first section overview defining aspects – its holism dynamism well foundational concludes with prospects future research.
